Meet sweet Rayne! He was surrendered because his owners cannot afford to take care of him anymore. Rayne has been having seizures for the past two months and they have become more frequent in the past few weeks. HE came in very weak, but able to stand. He needs to get out of here ASAP and get to the vet to get the medical attention he needs.
06/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rayne came to our center as an owner surrender on 6/26/2015. He walked nicely on his relief walk, no pulling. Rayne held gaze for three full seconds during Look item, body soft and low tail wag. He leaned away but accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, low wag with soft body. Rayne followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, settling easily at the end of game. He pulled his paw back gently on first Squeeze attempt, did not pull back at second Squeeze while sniffing assessor’s hand. Rayne calmly allowed Food bowl to be moved away, and lifted his head/ceased eating when assess-a-hand approached his cheeks. He had no interest in Toy and minimal interest in Rawhide, sniffing before turning away. Rayne approached helper dog at an appropriate pace, tail at spine level, body relaxed. The Behavior Team feels Rayne would do well in an Average home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body, low tail wag. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans away and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is low wagging body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw.. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not pull back paw, sniffs hand. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push him out. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog may smell and/or lick, then turns away. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip neutral.
