11/28/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/28/15 15:51 Ravioli was found tethered outside and brought to a police precinct. Both her finder and police officers report that she’s friendly with strangers and mellow. She allowed a police officer to lift her into his car. Ravioli had a soft, relaxed body and open mouth during her intake. She wagged her tail while we pet her and handled her-scan (-), collar, and positioning for pictures. She stood next to us and didn’t pull on her leash.
12/01/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Yes, it was Italian food theme day when Ravioli joined us! Found tethered to a pole and brought to a local police precinct, both her finder and the police tell us how friendly and mellow Ravioli is. She was so mellow during intake that she wagged her tail and stood next to staff during the entire process. A bit shy at first, she got over it quickly and then showed off lovely leash manners as we walked to the park. She’s likely housetrained, and her tail wags as she got more comfortable as we walked. She’s gorgeously groomed in her caramel color coat, her weight perfect for her size and is sweet and calm. Ravy (my nickname for her) joined me on the bench for some hugs and kisses, and cries a bit as she figures out why her life has changed. Rolling into my lap for hugs, she’s so gentle and sweet I can’t help but fall in love with her. Ravy wags her tail at other dogs through the gate, but as of this writing has not been in a playgroup yet. Affectionate, calm, sweetly playful and lovely to look at, Ravy is hoping to find a new person or family to love. Ask to meet her when you visit.
12/01/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ravioli pulls a bit on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Ravioli body checks the assessor and played tug-of-war with the leash during tag interaction but was easy to distract her. She took the toy with a soft body language. Ravioli show a bit of concern during the tag interaction she became a bit over arousal. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 3. Dog responds with her tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor. Dog is often focused on other stimuli in the room. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy.
12/01/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Ravioli was initially uncomfortable with other dogs but has opened up during her stay here. She will play a bit with solicitous males but otherwise is polite and non engaging with dogs. The behavior department recommends that Ravioli have a pre-adoption interaction before being placed into a home with another dog. When off leash with other dogs, Ravioli is intially tense and uncomfortable, then eventually opens up and attempts to solicit. 12/3 update: Ravioli engages in a bit of play when solicited by a social male.
