A volunteer writes:
No time for young Rangi who mingled and played nicely with kids, a bird ( well it took some time for him to accept a feathered friend..) and strangers. Rangi likes to chase birds and squirrels, though… He is an active pooch of mixed lineage (the best..) and I can see the Cattle Dog in him. Rangi is rather thin and hungry although is coat is well groomed. In my house, well, he would be at least 5 pounds more….He is as hungry as a bear, sucks liver kibbles out of my hand and I am not surprised that his master related to us that Rangi has a tendency to “guard” food and treats. Rangi pulls on the leash, sniffs a lot his new premises and marks quite a bit his territory. He is rather distracted during our encounter and most likely wonders what this drastic change in his life is all about…He can sit on command and looks so insecure with his little paw up…He does try to mount in playgroups . Rangi’s master told us that he plays exuberantly with other dogs…Rangi is an energetic little guy who needs to have his nutrition bumped up as well an active master and teacher who will take him for long walks , work on his alleged guarding issues and give him plenty of things to do. That is what his breed calls for…Rangi is at the Manhattan Care Center, waiting and dreaming to be your star..
