A Staff member writes : Quesadilla came to the care center as a stray. Since being here she has displayed signs of fearfulness and would do best in an experienced home. Quesadilla is also an older gal, and as a senior she is currently dealing with a skin irritation that is possible demodex, and will need veterinary follow up.

BEHAVIOR: EXPERIENCED HOME
Quesadilla walks with a fearful body language. She was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body, but trying to stay close. Quesadilla was shy during handling, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Quesadilla was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. She was relaxed when approaching a friendly dog, but was not playful.
Quesadilla was shy during the assessment. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. This dog is somewhat fearful and is offering signs of submission Quesadilla just needs time to warm up to the handler.
