10/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Queen previously lived with 1 adult and has been socialized with children and adults. The owner stated Queen had issues socializing with dogs as of late, but when she is around children and adults she is relaxed, respectful and tolerant. The owner mentioned when Queen is around other dogs she is reactive towards them and then interacts with them in a very rough manner, she will bark growl and lunge at other dogs when she is near them. It was reported by the owner Queens had a medium activity level, crate trained and is house trained. The owner describes Queen as playful, pushy, confident, excitable, affectionate, mellow, independent and friendly. The owner reports Queen had a previous bite history with another dog around there neighborhood, as the owner was petting the other dog Queen growled and attacked the dog and drew blood. At intake it was reported Queen was calm and well behaved, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Queen came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly, social and affectionate to the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Queen followed the handler with her body low and a bit fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Queen was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Queen appears to be sociable towards people but can be reactive towards other dogs because she was socialized late with other dogs, but the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter but with a thorough dog to dog interaction before placed into a permanent home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral.
