04/15/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Quartz may have arrived at our door as a stray but her chunky belly, delightful manners and laid-back attitude say ‘Family Dog’ loud and clear! She’s huggable, playful, loving and easy-going, nothing fazes her and she greets everyone, from Chihuahuas to Pitties to people, with a happy tail wag and a soft smile. Quartz is a real wigglebutt and adores being petted, offering up kisses when I lean in close and lying on her back for belly rubs too. She pees a river the minute we step outside and though she does pull slightly on leash (her only flaw) she responds promptly to my voice and sits on command to take treats with great gentleness from my hand. Her love of socializing and exploring is exceeded only by her deep and abiding passion for tennis balls and I’ve never seen a dog act with quite this level of devotion to them before. Most ball-mad pups quickly chew their toys to a pulp but not our Quartz, she’s a loving mother to her favorite toy and always as gentle as can be. Preferring to keep the ball in her mouth at all times, she likes to relax by lying down on her side and lightly munching away as I add to the chill-out session with even more belly rubs. Naturally, this good girl did a fantastic job on her behavior assessment (near perfect scores!) and performed well with other dogs in playgroup too. Quartz may be one of the most common minerals on Earth but our chunky sweetheart is truly one in a million, a rare and precious treasure just waiting to be discovered. Hurry in to our Manhattan Care Center and stake your family’s claim today!
