10/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1055381 Puma came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in home are unknown. At intake it was reported Puma was very nervous, panting and staying her distance away from the counselor, no handling was conducted at the moment. During SAFER Puma was nervous, trembling and panting. This behavior was maintained when entering the behavior assessment room, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Puma tried to bite at the assessor when attempting to put the leash on her. She displayed no interest in any of the resource items during this portion of the assessment. When on leash for a dog interaction with another dog on leash Puma does not approach, but instead turns her body to the side and exits. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Food: 1. Inconclusive dog is not eating. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, and exits.
