PROGNOSIS: GOOD
PROFILE :
Basic Information: Princess is a 8 year old unaltered Poodle mix. Owner got Princess as a gift for her birthday 8 years ago. Princess appears to have a tumor that’s not cancerous. Owner surrenders Princess due to personal problems.
Social Life and Personality: Princess lived with 5 adult and children ages 1, 7 and 14 years old. Princess is playful and respectful towards the children in the household. Princess lived with another dog for the past two years and owner stated they rough play with each other. Her behavior is unknown towards cats. She’s mostly indoors and activity level to a medium. Owner describes Princess as shy and anxious.
Behavior: Owner stated Princess never bitten anyone. The owner is the only person who can touch her food bowl and take toys/treats away from her mouth. She believes if anyone else do it she will growl. Princess is given a bath once a week. She barks at unfamiliar people approaching the house or family member.
For a New Family to Know: Princess is trained to use the bathroom on walks but lately been using the piddle pads instead due do not being walked. She knows commands such as sit, down, come, stay in English and Spanish. Princess use to play with balls but not interested in toys anymore. She likes to be in the same room as owner. Princess eats dry food twice a day and sleeps in her own bed.
Intake Behavior: Upon intake Princess was barking and growling at anyone who came by or pass the owner. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed limited handling.
Owner stated Princess has a tumor on her right leg that’s not cancerous. Princess was sent to the ASPCA Pic Grant and the vet stated she might have to have surgery to remove her leg.
