09/04/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/04/15 17:30 Princess A1050354 is an est. 1yr old female black and white short haired Chihuahua who was given to the child of the finder 3 days ago and they’re unable to keep her. They stated she takes a few days to warm up to you, she slept on the sofa, ate Pedigree wet & dry dog food and “went” inside around the home. During intake Princess was very nervous and attempted to hide behind the finder. When the finder held her I was able to scan (-) her. Once I tried to get her own collar off of her she snapped her head back at me with “whale eyes”. After I spent some time with her on the floor talking to her, petting her little by little and slowly getting her used to me, after about 10mins she allowed me to collar her, take her pictures, pick her up, hold her then place her into a kennel with ease.

09/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Princess was a bit difficult to remove from her kennel with a fearful body language snapping at the leash. Once she was out pulls a bit on leash. Princess was not sociable, and was more interested in the surroundings than the handler during the assessment. Princess was shy and nervous and trembled during handling, with a fearful body language. She becomes extremely frightened during the tag interaction, tail tucked, and trying to exit room. She was not interested in toys or rawhide. Princess approaches the helper dog with his tail at spine level, body not stiff, lip long. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 3. Dog repeatedly turns quickly away when touched, or repeatedly spins toward the touch, and repeatedly tries to exit. Dog may be crouching, tail is tucked, mouth closed, body stiff. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog – dog 2.
