Meet Prince: Prince is a very sweet, blind senior. Being visually impaired doesn’t stop him from being a loving companion! Let this senior enjoy his golden years in the care and comfort of a loving home!
PROFILE
Basic Information: Prince is 14 year old male Shih Tzu who is blind.
Social Life and Personality: Prince has been around children of all ages. Around the mhe is relaxed and playful. When he plays with them he is gentle. Around other dogs Prince is relaxed and plays gently with them. Prince is very respectful of cats and will usually slowly walk away to give them space. Prince is house trained and has been kept indoors and outdoors. Prince has been described as confident, affectionate, mellow, independent, friendly and with a low activity level.
Behavior: Prince has never bitten another animal or person and has good behavior. Prince is friendly when people touch his food or bowl while eating, takes a treat or toy away while he is using it, or if someone brushes him. Prince is also friendly when an unfamiliar person approaches his home or family, when someone gives him a bath, trims his nails or disturbs him while he is resting.
For a New Family to Know: Prince knows the command sit. For exercise Prince will run around his backyard off leash and go for slow walks on a leash three times a week. Prince does not play with toys or plays games. Prince will go to the bathroom on the cement. When at home Prince will follow around his owner. When left home alone Prince is well behaved. Prince is not bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks. Prince eats dry food from the brand Beniful and sleeps where he feels most comfortable in the house.
Intake Behavior: Prince would bump into things if not guided where to walk. Prince allowed staff to pick up and hold him. Prince allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.
GROUP BEHAVIOR: When off leash with other dogs, Prince allows greeting then goes to explore his surroundings. He is tolerant of mounting. 10/1 update: Prince allows greeting but mostly keeps to himself.
