10/28/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Big and brindlicious, Pressure watches me approach his kennel and gets up to meet me. He’s leashed easily, he steps out carefully and off we go. Showing off his housetraining skills the moment we’re out the door he then showed off his amazing leash manners as we walk to the park. What a pleasure he is on leash!! We chatted as we walked as Pressure is quiet and a little shy, and by the time we went into the backyard he was my new best friend!! Giving me a stand up hug to let me know I had his stamp of approval, Pressure snuggled and kissed and hung out in my lap and I was thrilled to have him there. He’s full figured (more to love), his amber eyes glow like two new copper pennies, and his too thin coat could use a little better nutrition to fill it out and give it luster. After some quiet snuggle time, Pressure got playful snuggly and I don’t think he realizes that he’s not a lap dog! Greeting a small dog quietly through the fence, in play group with dogs his own size he greets politely, is tolerant and wanders the pen. He’s an awesome dog who hasn’t forgotten what it’s like to play and love and is hoping to find a new family with whom to do just that. Hopping back in his kennel easily, he turned around to give me a smile and I promised we would help him find his new home. Let’s make his wish, and ours for him, come true. Stop by to meet him and have a hug when you visit.
10/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pressure was a bit difficult to remove from his kennel (growling). Once he was removed from his kennel he walks calmly on leash. Pressure was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Pressure was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. Pressure is a stray dog that was found in an apartment complex. Upon intake pressure was scared and timid. He allowed limited handling. Pressure during the assessment didn’t show any concern but he was fearful and will growl in the kennel. The behavior department feels that Pressure can go to an experienced home. We recommend that introductions are done slowly, and Pressure be given the opportunity to interact at their own pace. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds Food: 1. No interest. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest.
10/27/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

When off leash with other dogs, Pressure greets politely. He shows continued interest in approaching and sniffing the female greeter, but does not engage in play. 10/29: Pressure briefly greets the other dog, then keeps to himself.
