07/17/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/17/15 19:30 Poochie was brought back to ACC with a cat (Earl Gray A0869318). They were fed people food which Earl Gray guarded. He injured Poochie’s rear limbs in effort to guard the food. Poochie doesn’t have any wounds but is limping and whimpering. The owner decided she couldn’t keep the pets and was going to leave them in the hallway but instead gave them to a neighbor to bring to us. The neighbor has interacted with Poochie outside. He states that he’s relaxed and playful with his two dogs (male and female, small and medium sized) and other neighbors’ dogs. He stated that Poochie is friendly with strangers and especially loves children. Poochie had a low body and appeared lethargic. He tried to follow his neighbor but often fell to the side and couldn’t walk well. He often whimpered. He allowed me to pet and scan him (-), but snapped and whimpered when I began collaring him (he didn’t make contact with my hand). His neighbor collared him, positioned him for pictures, picked him up, put him in his kennel, and kissed him goodbye, all of which he tolerated. His neighbor was very surprised when he snapped at me and stated that he hadn’t seen him do something like that before. He thinks it’s due to him being in pain.
