A volunteer writes:
Pocahontas is a young beauty waiting for her new master or family at the Manhattan Care Center. She has been very well cared for, is healthy looking and wears a gorgeous and perfectly groomed coat. She is a strong girl who was a bit all over the place when she came in but she is definitively more relaxed now. She pulls a little on the leash, seems to be house-trained, and sits on command. She loves food and treats and is quite enthusiastic about snatching roast beef from my hand. She does not guard the rawhide we share or a ball, though and she aced her behavioral evaluation at the care center. Pocahontas seems to like other dog and does not bark from her kennel or the pen we are in. She is a friendly youngster who likes to be caressed and kissed on the head. She gives paw again and again, mostly so that I reward her after each action. Pocahontas is very smart. Well, she is a Shepie… Pocahontas does not belong in a confined place but in a home. She will enjoy long walks, running in the park, playing ball and resting with her new owner or family in a place she will call home. Come and meet her soon..
