FAIR PROGNOSIS

Basic Information: Pluto is a 14 year old male beagle mix. Owner had Beagle for a year from a deceased family member. Owner stated Pluto has a chronic eat infection. Owner surrenders Pluto due to no time.

Social Life and Personality: Pluto lived with 2 adults and a 4 year old for a year. He is relaxed, playful, and tolerant towards everyone in the household. Pluto doesn’t live with other pets but owner stated he is curious towards dogs he encounters with. Pluto behavior is unknown towards cats. Pluto is mostly indoors and activity level is low. Owner stated Pluto is playful, affectionate, mellow and friendly.

Behavior Issues: Pluto never bitten or scratched anyone to owner’s knowledge. Owner stated he urinates and defecates indoors on newspaper. He barks when he greets people, excited and when he wants to go outside. He snaps/bites when someone touches his food bowl but never bitten anyone to break skin. He isn’t bothered by taking baths but never had nail trim. He barks at unfamiliar people approaching the house or family member.

For a New Family to Know: Pluto knows commands such as sit and come. He goes for walks 1-2 a day but uses the bathroom indoors. He likes to stay in his favorite spot in the house. He eats dry food but prefers wet twice a day

Intake Behavior: Upon intake Pluto was howling, barking and was excited. He scanned positive for a microchip and allowed limited handling.
