Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Phish came to our center after a member of the public found him as a stray. During intake, Phish would retreat from admission counselor initially stiff body when touched but then relaxed and warmed up, allowing all handling. Phish walked nicely on relief walk, no pulling. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, lip lick. Phish stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, lip lick, mouth closed, ears and tail neutral. He followed playfully at the end of the leash, body soft. Phish did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. He gulped Food and required moderate amount of pressure from assess-a-hand. Phish became stiff and growled when attempting to touch Toy. He tried to bite/snapped during Rawhide item. When off leash with other dogs, Phish greets the other dogs then wanders off to explore his surroundings. Due to potential for possessiveness with various resources, Phish must be placed with a New Hope partner. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, lip lick. Sensitivity: 1.
