04/23/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Meet Philly, a bat-eared beauty who’s slightly crossed eyes are just the start of her endless charms! Even in the short time she was with her finder, Philly managed to make quite the impression. She let the young children climb all over her AND was friendly towards the resident bunny!! Since her arrival, Philly has been winning over staff and volunteers and we can only echo the sentiments of her finders. She is very friendly, but not overbearing, and is a joy to be with. She loves to explore on walks and pulls occasionally, but overall has great leash manners. She keeps her cage clean and is quick to relieve herself outside, so may have housetraining. Sometimes after she “goes” she does a little happy dance and then shuffles over to me to nuzzle her head into my lap! Off leash she likes to play with toys, but checks in often and will prop her paws on me to solicit affection. She seems very interested in other dogs we’ve seen on walks and is reported to be very eager to play in playgroup — vocalizing and offering play bows. I suspect this sweet, silly girl will fit in wherever she’s welcome — please check her out at Brooklyn ACC! Another volunteer writes: With her playful demeanor, megawatt smile, and goofy, wonky eyes, Philly is sure to be the life of any party! This pocket sized pitty’s zest for life is contagious, and if you’re the person on the other end of her leash, you will surely have some extra spring in your step for the rest of the day. A happy, exuberant walker, Philly seems houstrained and keeps a very clean kennel. Philly loves hugs and kisses and will sit pretty for treats. When we took some time out on the cuddle step, her favorite activity was burying her big head on my shoulder and making everything ok with one giant sigh. I really enjoyed my time with Philly and you will too! So now that the secret is out, hurry over to the care center and meet Philly, she’s got a lot of love to share with the rest of the world!
