A volunteer writes:   Talk about saving the best for last!  My dream date, my crush, meet Penelope.   A tiny morsel in a tan coat, a schmushy face, eyes that will melt the hardest of hearts….   Sweet, mellow and as ‘chill’ as they get, Penelope is housetrained (she held it all the way to the park where she then peed a river), great on leash, and already working as a “helper” dog in group play.  In the park Penny made friends with a young boy who wanted to meet her, resting her head against his leg while he pet her.   She poses for photos like a super model, her eye contact soft and sweet, and takes her reward treats gently.    Social and playful with both males and females in group,she offers correction when needed, and enjoyed some rough play with a group of energetic puppies.  Rolling over for a belly rub in my lap she gives me soft and gentle kisses and then later as she’s sitting on the ground she rolls over for more bellies! Penelope already has a legion of fans among staff and volunteers, and I’ve quickly placed my name on top of the list as President of the Penelope fan club.   She’s an absolute rockstar waiting to meet her new person or family.  We’re rooting for her to meet them quickly. The line forms to the left!
