A volunteer writes:
97 pounds….To walk him or not to walk him ? That’s the question….Peanut Butter is a big and imposing dog but he  looks quite friendly in his kennel.. Bright clear eyes, open mouth, engaging smile and a wagging tail. The “cherry on top” came from his kennel staff who assured me that he was a very good boy…Peanut Butter is leashed in no time and off we aim for the yard. He eliminates on the way, meets peacefully few other dogs, among them a little one and  accepts without say a scarf that looks so small around his big neck…He loves, loves, loves food and will jump high for it, even search my bag…..Really….This is not allowed in my book…Peanut Butter..You have to sit and stay, which he does after quite a number of prompts… What a gorgeous and majestic dog he is, poorly cared for but healthy looking and clad in an intact coat.. …You might say..I would not want to meet him at the corner of a street. Dogs come in all sizes and shapes. This is really the inside that counts. Indeed, Peanut Butter is a sweetheart, a happy go lucky character and believe it or not…a giant lap dog who kisses and loves hugs…You can imagine that a good looking’ guy like him is not single..Right..He came with a lovely and big girl named Mint Tea. They were found, passed out, in a very peaceful yard,  chaperoned  by the moon. They sit side by side in adjacent dens at the care center….Both Mint Tea and Peanut Butter are lovely dogs, friendly, sociable, affectionate and very pleasant to be with. They might not have known a life of riches but they know what is is to make an owner happy and to enjoy our company. Come and meet them both at the Manhattan Care Center. Your new best friends are waiting for you..
