BEHAVIOR:
07/17/15
Paulo came to our center on 7/7/2015. He was friendly upon intake. Paulo allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, body soft. He leaned in, accepting the touch during Sensitivity item, body soft, mouth closed. Paulo followed at the end of the leash during Tag game, but was unresponsive to assessor and focused on other stimuli. He required coaxing at the end of game to approach assessor. Paulo did not pull back his paw on both Squeeze attempts. He followed the Food dish quickly as it was taken away, then tried to bite the assess-a-hand as it pushed against his cheek. Paula had no interest in Toy. He took Rawhide away, body a bit stiff. When off leash with other dogs, Paulo is tolerant and greets politely. Due to his attempt at biting during Food item, Paulo must be placed with a New Hope Partner.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, body soft. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans in and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game with coaxing. He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor.
Squeeze 1/ 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed.
Food: 5. Dog tries to bite.
Toy 1: No interest.
