A volunteer writes: Who does not love Papi, a 10 year old little guy who is the cutest thing on earth? His cloudy eyes and his little pink tongue, the faint snorting….he is just delicious and yes, to live for…Papi is very sociable and friendly. He is Mr Congeniality in playgroups with other dogs. Adorable is the best word to describe him. He will make a new owner very happy to have him as a friend. Come and meet our little Papi at the Manhattan Care Center and take him home.

Papi walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Papi was calm and relaxed when playing tag with assessor. He was not interest in toys. Papi did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, wagging tail, open mouth. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. When off leash with other dogs Papi is a bit sexually motivated but will solicit and engage briefly in play.
