A volunteer writes: Up until a couple of days before I met him, Pak had a full life. He lived with his mother and sister and his human family who included a 2 year old and a 3 year old. He loved to cuddle with them and was very gentle. He played gently with everyone including his canine family, enjoying being part of a nice family. Indeed, we were told that “he’s a cuddle bug and his favorite thing to do is be with his family”. Now he’s with us, surrendered by them due to cost. He’s clearly sad, and as happy as he was to go out to go potty ( per his family he’s housetrained) it’s clear that he’s feeling his loss. His leash manners are lovely, he’s gentle and easy to walk. Well taken care of, his coat shines and his weight is good for his size. Taking treats gently, he then wags his tail at a dog outside our pen. He eventually lay his head in my lap for petting, but doesn’t give into it as I’m not ‘family’ and that’s what he needs. Alert to his surroundings, he adorably watches some flower petals fall to the ground from nearby trees. He was happy to meet another person who joined us in our pen, and watched after her wistfully when she left. Pak is so gentle and easy and comes with such wonderful comments from his former family it’s no surprise that he aced his behavior assessment indicating he’ll be a good fit in just about any home. A proven family dog who cherishes the time spent with them, he’s looking for a new family to love, a family who knows the meaning of forever. He’s ready to hand you his heart, are you ready to hand him yours? He’s so ready to love again.

A volunteer updates: I remember Corey (fka Pak) when he was first with us, and am so sorry to see my old friend back. Returned as apparently he whines when left alone (perhaps he needs a doggy friend?), his former owner provides a glowing resume for him. He’s “very housetrained” knows “sit” and “come”, his favorite game is tug, he’s a cuddler, is friendly and welcoming to all people, and is relaxed and playful with other dogs. Corey has an important job with us, he’s a “helper dog” in group, welcoming other dogs into the pen. Rockstar!! Corey showed me his sit in exchange for a treat which he takes gently, and put his head in my lap for some petting. He’s sweet and shy, and completely confused by his change of circumstance but trying to make the best of it. He’s a sweetheart who needs a new home and perhaps a canine companion with whom to play and snuggle. Please welcome Corey into your home and heart.
