11/19/15 14:36 Basic Information: Pacinto is a three year old unaltered male pit-bull mix. He was given to owner as a gift when he was two months old. Owner surrenders Pacinto due to house fire. Social Life and Personality: Pacinto lived with one male adult but has been around children. Owner stated Pacinto is relaxed, playful and respectful towards everyone he meets. Pacnto has been around other animals such as cats and dogs. Owner stated Pacinto is respectful and tolerant towards them. He is mostly indoors and activity level is very high. Owner describes Pacinto as playful, confident, affectionate and friendly. Behavior: Pacinto never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. Pacinto is friendly when owner touches his food bowl or take toys/ treats away. He’s friendly of taking baths and being brushed. Pacinto has never had a nail trim. He is friendly when unfamiliar people approaching the house or family member. For a New Family to Know: Pacinto is traine dto ue the bathroom outdoors. He goes for walks three times a day on a leash. He likes to play with balls or bones. Pacinto is crate train but doesn’t stay in a crate as much. He likes to follow owner around the house, be in the same room or stay in his favorite spot. He eats wet and dry food and likes Milk bones for treats. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Pacinto was calm and relaxed. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Pacinto previously lived with one male adult. The owner stated Pacinto is relaxed, playful and respectful towards everyone he meets; he also has been around other animals such as cats and dogs. The owner mentioned Pacinto is respectful and tolerant towards them. It was reported by the owner Pacinto is house trained, crate trained and has a very high activity level. The owner describes Pacinto as playful, confident, affectionate and friendly. At intake it was reported Pacinto was calm and relaxed, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Pacinto came into the assessment room very hyper, he was social and anxious towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Pacinto was easily aroused, mouths the leash and slowly de-escalates with tense body language during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Pacinto freezes on toy item when attempting to remove the item away. Due to some concerns on tag interaction and toy item, the behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, and open mouth. Tag: 3. Dog gets easily aroused, mouths the leash and slowly de-escalates with tense body language. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy 1: 4. Dog freezes.
11/21/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD

When off leash with other dogs, Pacinto will allow the helper dog to sniff him briefly but mostly avoids interaction. He will growl when the helper dog approaches his face. 11/24 update: Pacinto is a bit uncomfortable but greets the other dog briefly. He does not growl when his face is approached.

Medical rating was 1 – NORMAL , behavior rating was NONE
Scan : negative Sex: male Approx 3 yr S/O: BARH, no ocular or nasal discharge. Teeth grade 0/4. Abd was WNL. BCS 5/9, clean coat. Mild dark debris AD, minimal debris AS, . Cleaned ears, instilled mometax. Became mildly agitated after ear cleaning. A: Apparently healthy P: Further treatment for ears not necessary, and would likely cause unecessary stress. PROGNOSIS: EXCELLENT
