A volunteer writes: Sitting at the back of his top kennel, it’s clear that Pablo is a bit overwhelmed by his new surroundings. It’s also clear that he’s been beautifully taken care of as his weight is perfect for his size, his coat clean and groomed and as we walk outside he seems to be looking for his people. He pulls on the leash which at this time is likely due to his anxiety, and after walking for a while, and going potty he was better. Ignoring other dogs we passed, Pablo checks out this new place, head up and alert. He’s elegant and compact, his markings gorgeous and unique. Off leash in a pen he allows me to pet him, finally gently taking a treat from my hand and greeting a dog in an adjoining pen with a friendly wagging tail. He sits when asked to, still doesn’t like my treats, enjoys some petting and we slowly make friends. When I toss a tennis ball for him he gives a half hearted chase but doesn’t retrieve. I would love to cuddle with Pablo and count his polka dot markings (he’s GORGEOUS). I can’t, but when you adopt him you’ll have that chance. I have a sense about Pablo….he’ll make an extraordinary best friend and simply needs the chance to prove it to you.
