Medical Behavior Evaluation No Initial Behavior
Medical Summary: N; 4 YO; 68.6 LB, Very calm and freindly during exam, BARH, NSF, ACtyvil applied
Basic Information: Oso is a 5 year old American Staff / Pitbull altered male. He was breed at home from Lala A10413344 and owner had her ever since. Owner had to surrender Lala due to living situations.
Social Life and Personality: Oso lived with one male adult her entire life but been around other people and children. Oso is playful around all children owner stated. Oso lived with another dog name Lala A1041344 which is his mother. Owner stated when they are together and see other dogs they become aggressive and bark, growl and lunges. But when Oso is not with Lala she is tolerant of dogs. The same goes for cats as well. Oso is mostly indoors and activity level is high. Owner stated Oso is playfu, excitable,affectionate, and friendly.
Behavior Issues: Oso never bitten or scratched anyone to owners knowledge. He barks alot and hard to control when on walks. He like to take baths and be brushed. Oso will bark at unfamiliar people approaching the house or family member.
For a New Family to Know: Oso is trained to use the bathroom outside and she goes for walks on a leash twice a day. He knows commands such as sit, come, stay, eat, let go, and off. Oso plays with ropes. He is crate trained and can stay in there for hours. He likes to follow owner around the house or be in the same room. He likes to eat dry food called Dog Chow 2-3 times a day. Oso sleeps in bed with owner.
Intake Behavior: Upon intake Oso was calm and relax. He scanned positive for a microchip and allowed all handling.

OWNER STATED LALA AND OSO SHOULD BE ADOPTED TOGETHER IF POSSIBLE BECAUSE OSO FOLLOWS LALA HABITS

Oso previously lived with 1 adult but has been around other people and children. The owner stated Oso is playful around all children. Owner stated Oso is tolerant with other dogs when he is alone but when with the other dog he lived with he was reported to bark, growl and lunge at other dogs seen on walks. The owner mentioned Oso has a high activity level. The Owner describes Oso as playful, excitable, affectionate, and friendly. It was reported by the owner he understands the commands sit, come, stay, let’s go and off. The owner mentioned Oso is crate trained.
It was reported Oso was calm and relax upon intake. During SAFER Oso had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Oso was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Oso was easy to handle when engaged with the items. The department feels Oso would be best suited for an average adopter, and if adopted into a home with other dogs it is recommend that introductions are done slowly.
Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins.
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw.
Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw.
Food: 1. No interest
Toy 1: No interest.
Rawhide: 1. No interest.
Dog-to-dog: When off leahs with other dogs, Oso continues to not exhibit interest in play but is tolerant. He greets other dogs and explores the yard. He shows more interest in the handler in the yard
PLAYGROUP BEHAVIOR:
When off leash with other dogs, Oso does not show interest in play and is initially selective and stiff with other dogs. He warms up overtime. 6/26 Update: Oso continues to not exhibit interest in play but is tolerant. He greets other dogs and explores the yard. He shows more interest in the handler in the yard
