I am a neutered male black and white pomeranian and shih tzu mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 6 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/26/2015 from NY 11234, owner surrender reason stated was PETS CONFL.

10/26/15 11:18 Basic Inforamtion: Oreo is a 1 1/2 year old altered Pomeranian/Shih Tzu. Oreo was given to the owner as a gift when Oreo was a puppy and is being surrendered because of a pet conflict. Oreo has no known health problems or injuries. Social Life and Personality: Oreo lived with 1 adults but had many children visit of all ages. Oreo is elaxed, playful, tolerant, and exuberant during play with the childre. He is relaxed and exuberant during play with other dogs. He lived with a cat and was relaxed, tolerant, and wanted to play with the cat. Oreo is mostly house trained and has an occsianly accident indoors, usually when not let outside on time. He is kept mostly indoors and has a high activity level. Oreo is described as playful, excitable, affectionate, and friendly. Behavior: Oreo is not bothered when someone touches his food bwl when ating. it is unknown hoe Oreo would react if someone was to take away a bone, rawhie, or treat. He is friednly when someone takes away his toys and thinks they are playing. He barks when someone is at the door but friendly when they come inside. Oreo snaps when groomed. For a New Family to Know: Oreo knows the commands sit, down, clap hands, and over. She is used to brisk walks 3x a day. He likes to play with balls, stuffed toys, and squeaky toys. His favorite games are fetch, chase, wrestling, and tug. He is well behaved when left in the home alone. He is not bothered by loud noises such as fireworks and thunder. He is used to eating Rachel Ray’s dry dog food. He likes to sleep in his crate with the door opened.

Oreo was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling. Once he was removed from his kennel he walks calmly on leash. Oreo was uncomfortable with handling; He wrinkles his muzzle to expose his front teeth. The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Oreo was not interested in food. He showed some concerning behavior during toy tests – freezing, but did not escalate to a snap or bite to the assess-a-hand. Oreo took the rawhide away, body language was stiff. Oreo was surrender to us. According to his previous owner Oreo has bitten in the past. These bites have not occurred in the last ten days. One time Oreo was playing with a sock and the owner tried to retrieve the sock. Another time, Oreo was nibbling on the owner’s grandson’s toes and trying to remove his sock”. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 5. Dog freezes Food: 1. No interest. Toy: 4. Dog freezes Rawhide: 3. Dog takes rawhide away, keeps a firm hold. His body is stiff. When off leash with other dogs, Oreo is a bit forward when greeting the other dogs, and continues to show persistent interest in sniffing and greeting.
