09/18/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/18/15 18:09 BASIC INFO Nugget and Alejandro aren’t related, but they’ve grown up together. Their owner got them from a pet store 4.5 years ago. Their family had to surrender them due to landlord and family conflict. SOCIALIZATION Nugget is shy with new people for a few minutes. He’s fearful and retreats from children but has never bit, snapped, growled, etc. He plays exuberantly with adults and doesn’t play with children. Nugget and Alejandro are relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and play exuberantly together. They’ve never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Nugget doesn’t mind storms. He’s nervous when someone bathes him or trims his nails and when strangers approach his home/family. He doesn’t mind when someone takes his food/treat/toy, moves him off furniture, holds/restrains him, wakes him up, or brushes him. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Nugget’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, and medium energy. His family loves when he stands on his rear legs and waves his front legs at them. He follows his family everywhere, loves attention, and is a lap dog. He likes stuffed and squeaky toys and played fetch, chase, and tug. He lived inside and slept in his open crate on his bed. He ate dry Beneful dog food mixed with water. He’s partially housetrained and potties on wee-wee pads but also urinates off the pads about daily. He’s otherwise well-behaved when left alone. He was crated when he was younger but doesn’t need to be anymore. He knows come. He went for slow walks and pulled on his leash. INTAKE Nugget was tense and shaking during his intake and handling-picking up, petting, scanning (-), collaring, positioning for pictures, and putting into a kennel. He didn’t vocalize.
