A volunteer writes: Lying so quietly in his kennel it’s hard to miss his mushy face, and when he stood up I knew he needed to go out. As soon as we stepped outside it was clear he was having difficulty walking and when I checked his paws I saw that they were raw and bloody. In the vet’s office he was an immediate hit, rolling over for a belly rub as I sat on the ground with him so that the vet could put salve on his feet. Wiggly and affectionate he was such a good boy as he was being taken care of, and even gobbled down an antibiotic in a pill pocket quickly. And this after he turned up his schmushy nose at my treats! He showed off his sit for another “treat” (pill pocket), gave the vet some hugs and kisses, and then snuggled with me wagging his little stump of a tail. His coat is clean and shiny, his weight good for his size, and he’s sweet and gentle. He’s an awesome dog and I look forward to being able to take him for a real walk when his feet are healed. Mostly though, I look forward to seeing him wag his little stump of a tail on the way out the door with his new person.
