SAFER: EXPERIENCED HOME
Brownie previously lived 2 adults and 2 children. The owner stated Brownie is affectionate and receptive to all family members but is not tolerant of rough play from children and give warning with a growl and if the warning is not respected Brownie may show his teeth. The owner mentioned when on leash walks Brownie will become aroused by dogs he meets with barking and pulling. It was reported by the owner Brownie will guard his food, toys and treats by growling and Plastic or rubber toys he will destroy and can swallow the pieces, so the owner reported he should not have plastic or rubber toys. It was mentioned by the owner Brownie is well behaved when home alone.
At intake it was reported Brownie was indifferent to introduction, he was still for handling but allowed all handling. During SAFER Brownie came into the assessment room calm, he was a bit social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Brownie was unresponsive but not fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Brownie was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Due to some concerns with resource guarding and rough play around children stated from previous owner, the behavior department feels it’s best he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children.
