Basic information
Nic is a 17 year old Bichon. Nic has known medical conditions other than being geriatric. Owner has had Nic for 17 years and is surrendering because they can no longer take care of him.
Socialization
Nic is a playful and respectful around strangers. Around children Nic is tolerant but does not interact with them much. Nic has lived with a cat that he grew up with and was very respectful towards the cat. Around other dogs in the neighborhood Nic is curious and playful.
Behavior
Nic isn’t bothered by storms or fireworks and is well behaved when left in the house alone. Nic allows his food bowl to be touched while eating and to have toys bones and treats taken away from him. Nic enjoys getting bathes and being brushed. When someone unfamiliar approaches the home nic will bark but upon entering will greet the visitor.
For the new family to know
Nic was described as playful and affectionate with a low to medium activity level. Nic is house trained but recently started to have accidents in the house when he get excited. Nic knows the command Come here. For exercise Nic enjoys brisk walks on the leash. When off leash Nic will wander forward but come back when his name is called. Nic eats pedigree dry food twice a day and loves any type of treat you give him. When home with Nic he tends to follow you around seeking attention.
Behavior during intake
During intake Nic was quiet and slightly shy. when counselor approached Nic he was well behaved and allowed counselor to scan and collar him. Nic allowed all handling with ease.
