BCS 7/9 MODERATE TO SEVERE DENTAL TARTAR/GINGIVITIS, EYES CLEAR, NO OCULAR OR NASAL DISCHARGE, EARS WNL AMBULATORY X 4; LARGE AREA OF ALOPECIA AT CAUDAL HIND END, MILD UNDERLYING DERMATITIS, SEVERAL LIVE FLEAS PRESENT GOOD PROGNOSIS

PROFILE:
Nena is an all tan 6 yrs. old female Chihuahua who was surrendered along with her litter mate at ACC today. Nena has fleas at this time and will undergo a full physical health exam. She is described as being friendly and mellow.
Nena has been socialized with children and dogs but has not been socialized with cats at this time. She is described as being relaxed playful respectful and tolerant when she is around children and dogs. She interacts with them in a gentle well behaved and respectful manner. She is a house trained dog who spends time both inside and outside in the yard. She is equally behaved inide or outide of the house. She is described as being playful pushy confident affectionate mellow independent and friendly. She will become nervous when she hears loud noises of any kind.
Nena is not bothered when anyone places their hand by her food or takes her toys or treats away from her. She is also not bothered when she is given a bath or having her fur brushed. She is not bothered when she is pushed off of the furniture disturbed from her sleep or being held back. She will become alert and bark when a stranger approaches her house or a family member. She has never had her nails trimmed. She knows the commands sit and stay and has never been crate trained.
Nena goes for slow walks on and off of her leash and will return when called. She will use the bathroom on cement or grass. She will spend time in the yard and use the bathroom in the yard as well. She likes o play with balls and will also play fetch. She eats dry food once a day and will also have dog biscuits for treats.
Nena will follow her owner around the house and will stay in the same room with them also. She likes to stay under the window and sleeps on the sofa. During the Intake process she was nervous shaking and pacing often. She allowed herself to be collared and photographed with minimal effort. She also allowed herself to be walked and handled when she became calm.
