I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/01/2015 from NY 10457, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

07/01/15 15:08 BASIC INFO: Nena is an approximately 5 year old Poodle Mix. She was found as a stray after being grazed by a car on the side of her face. Finder stated that she was very friendly and sweet with everyone in the home. There were 2 other dogs in the home of which she got along with, but the Finder kept separated. She was fed table food. She peed in the home, but would poop outside. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Nena was a bit tense and nervous upon intake.

07/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD

Nena walks with a fearful body language. She was extremely fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Nena was shy and nervous and trembled during handling, with stiff body language. She becomes extremely frightened during the tag interaction, tail tucked, yelping and trying to exit room. Nena was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. She does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Nena came in as stray. The finder stated that she was very friendly and sweet with everyone in the home. There were 2 other dogs in the home of which she got along with, but the Finder kept separated”. This dog is fearful and needs time to warm up. We also recommend a home without children she needs an adopter that can provide a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 3. Dog repeatedly turns quickly away when touched, or repeatedly spins toward the touch, and repeatedly tries to exit. Dog may be crouching, tail is tucked, mouth closed, body stiff. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits. Helper:A1042140
