08/08/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I love the seniors…..their graying muzzles, their calm, their softness….They’re happy for easy companionship, no challenges, just some petting, some love and a warm, safe, soft place to lay their heads…on a pillow, on your lap, on a rug…..Nas is no exception. Stunningly handsome in his well groomed tan coat, his face is tinged with gray, accented with the white of age. His eyes are amber – bright, alert, and loving. His family apparently moved and “gifted” him to a young boy whose parents cannot keep him. So, after starting with us many years ago, he is now back to find a new family who understands the meaning of forever. Nas has been beautifully taken care of, is likely housetrained, has lovely leash manners, and loves getting his head rubbed, leaning into my hand as I pet him. I met him when he was in playgroup with another dog, and while he greets politely does not engage in active play as of this writing. We walked outside for a short while and stopped in a doorway to take some pictures, Nas the perfect model before lying down to relax. We kissed, we snuggled, he sighed and leaned into me for more petting. Looking for nothing more than a family to love and snuggle with, easy walks and good nutritious food, Nas is hoping to find that special family to love for the rest of his life. Perhaps named after the rapper/lyricist whose album “Life is Good” won a Grammy Award, Nas is ready to say, “life is good”. Are you the lucky person who gets to take him home?
