10/13/15 13:46 Basic Information: Mufasa is a 5 year old unalatered German shepherd mix. He was brought for a breeder owner stated. Owner stated Mufasa had hematoma and rashes on his skin. Owner surrenders Mufasa due to personal problem. Social Life and Personality: Mufasa lived with one adult and been around children all ages. Owner stated Mufasa is relaxed and respectful towards everyone in the household. Owner stated he is aloof towards stranger. Owner stated he is tolerant towards other animals towards dog and never been around cats. He mostly indoors and activity level to a medium. Owner stated Mafasa is playful, confident and aloof. Behavior: Mufasa has never bitten or scratched anyone to his knowledge. Mufasa allows owner to touch his food bowl, toys or treats. Mufasa isn’t bothered by taking baths or being brushed. Mufasa barks at unfamiliar people approaches the house or family member. For a New Family to Know: Mufasa is trained to use the bathroom outdoors and gets walked three times a day. He knows commands such as sit, down, come and stay. The only toys he plays with is balls. Mufasa is crate trained and can stay in a crate for hours. Mufasa usually stays in his favorite spot and is well behaved when home alone. Mufasa eats dry food can eats raw chicken only. He likes to sleep by the door. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Mafasa was quiet and calm. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Helper dog: A1027905 Mufasa previously lived with one adult and been around children all ages. The owner stated Mufasa is relaxed and respectful towards everyone in the household. The owner mentioned Mufasa is house trained, crate trained, well behaved when home alone and has a medium activity level. The owner describes Mafasa as playful, confident and aloof. At intake it was reported Mafasa was quiet and calm, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Mufasa was calm and quiet, he was social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Mufasa was relaxed during the tag interaction. During paw squeeze test flank was applied both times due to his paws being sore and raw, when he didnt respond at all. During the resources portion of the assessment on food item Mufasa didn’t lift his head when attempting to remove his head out of the food bowl and his body was a bit tense, toy item he takes away with stiff body language and rawhide item he takes away body between the handler and the item. Mufasa may tend to lung when approached in the care center and due to the environment; Mufasa may require positive reinforcement behavior modification. Due to these concerns the behavior department feels it’s best he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children and a thorough interaction if adopted to the public. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Flank squeeze 2: 2. Dog does not respond at all. Food: 3. Dog follows the dish, his tail between his legs, ears are forward. His body is tense. Dog does not lift his head from the bowl when hand is applied to his cheek. Toy 1: 3. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is stiff. Rawhide: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is between you and the toy or rawhide, and he is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
