04/14/15 13:12 Upon intak dog was very nervous. He was very stressed out when having a leashed put around his head. He was licking his lips a lot and his ears were flat back. Eventually when it was put on he calmed down. He allowed to be picked up, rubbed, and collared by an admissions counselor. Dog scanned negative for a microchip.

04/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper: 1024540 Mufasa came to us as a stray on 4/14/15. Mufasa had tense body language before the start of the assessment, but relaxed a bit after a brief walk. He walks well on the leash, and allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items, but showed some concerning behavior during the squeeze portion. Initially Mufasa moved quickly away from the assessor with stiff body language on the paw squeeze, but then became significantly tenser on the flank test. Due to this behavior demonstrated here the behavior department believes that Mufasa will be best placed in a home with no children. He proved a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. He took the rawhide away with relaxed body language, but showed no interest in the toy on this portion of the assessment. Mufasa had relaxed body language when interacting with another dog on leash, but was not playful. When trying to place Mufasa back in his kennel he became very resistant, jumping away from the assessor with very stiff body language and mouthing the rope. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, body a bit tense, licks lips. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog head flips while pulling back paw. Flank squeeze 1: 4. Dog freezes Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body soft. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and relaxed. He does not place his body between you and the rawhide. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip neutral.
