08/19/15 21:30 Mr. Tibbs is a 16 mos. old tan and white male American pitbull who was surrendered at ACC today. Mr. Tibbs is not neutered at this time and will need to undergo a full physical health exam. He is described as a sweet and energetic dog. Mr. Tibbs is relaxed affectionate respectful and tolerant when he is around children. Due to his size he can be somewhat rough when interacting with them but he tries to be as gentle as possible. When he sees other dogs he will be tolerant but will not interact with them at all. He has not been socialized with cats at this time. He is house trained but will occassionally have accidents in the house a few times a week. He likes to stay both in and outdoors and is well behaved in both areas. He is not bothered by loud noises at all. He is described as being playful confident excitable affectionate independent and friendly. He can sometimes be shy and anxious around other dogs. Mr. Tibbs has a hich activity level. Mr. Tibbs is not bothered when his food toys or treats are taken away from him. He is not bothered when he is given a bath having his fur brushed being held back or disturbed from his sleep. He will struggle and try to play with the person trimming his nails and he is not allowed on the furniture. He will become alert and bark when a stranger is approaching his home or a family member. He knows the commands sit and lay. He is well behaved when he is in his crate as e can spend up to 10 hours a day there due to his owner working. Mr. Tibbs likes to go for fast paced walks and will use the bathroom on grass or cement. When he is in the house he will urinate in the bathtub if he has to use the bathroom. He likes to play in the yard and will play with balls and engage in games of tug of war. He eats dry food everyday once a day and will have wet food once a week. He likes to have dog biscuit or beef jerky treats. When he is with his owner in the house Mr. Tibbs will follow them around and stay in the same room as them. He will stay in his favorite spot of the kitchen and will sleep in his crate at night. During the Intake process Mr. Tibbs was very friendly and excitable. He allowed himself to be petted fed and played with by staff and other people. He allowed himself to be collared and photographed with some difficulty because he is excitable.

Helper Dog: A1047755 Mr. Tibbs previously lived with 1 adult and has been socialized around children. The owner stated Mr. Tibbs is relaxed, affectionate, respectful and tolerant when he is around children but due to his size he can be somewhat rough when interacting with them but he tries to be as gentle. The owner mentioned Mr. Tibbs is house trained and has a high activity level. The owner describes Mr.Tibbs as being playful confident, excitable, affectionate, independent and friendly. At intake Mr. Tibbs was very friendly and excitable, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Mr. Tibbs came into the assessment room friendly and excitable, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Mr. Tibbs joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Mr.Tibbs was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Mr. Tibbs appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy, so the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no young children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Food: 1.No interest Toy 1: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is between you and the toy, and he is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog licks, then turns away. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches the helper dog by rushing in, interested in play, body remains soft and tail at spine.
