06/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mozarella walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Mozarella was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. Mozarella did not show any concern during the behavior assessment but during the play group interaction she was a bit uncomfortable. The behavior department feels that Mozarella will do better with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog-dog: With other dogs off-leash, Mozarella offers conflicting behaviors while interacting. He will attempt to engage in play and mount but will also approach other dogs and growl. He seems more comfortable when left alone to explore his surroundings.
