04/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Molly came to us as a stray on 4/21/15 so we don’t have any behavior information prior to what is being seen in the shelter. Molly was very interest in the interacting with the assessor when entering the behavior room. She allowed the assessor easily conduct all tactile assessment items while maintaining soft body language. She became a bit over aroused during the tag test by mouthing the leash strongly, but remained playful and did not escalate. She proved a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. Molly took the toy and rawhide items away with soft body language on this portion of the assessment. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Dog becomes a bit over aroused and mouths the leash strongly. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body likely a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the rawhide. Dog-Dog: When off leash with other dogs, Molly politely greets the other dog at the gate. She is a little unsure when interacting but is generally respectful and tolerant.
