03/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Minnie Mouse was brought in as a stray surrender so her past behavior in a home is unknown. Upon intake it was noted that Minnie Mouse was calm and relaxed during all handling. She was also reported to be tolerant of all handling during her medical exam. During SAFER Minnie Mouse gently jumped up attempting to lick the assessors face when greeting. She was relaxed during all of the handling items, as well as the tag interaction. During the food item, Minnie Mouse lifted her head, after a bit of pressure was applied to her cheek when being pushed out of the bowl. She only showed minimal interest in the toys, and she was easy to handle when chewing on the rawhide item. Look: 1. Dog leans forward to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are back. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the rawhide. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, she is tolerant of both males and females and enjoys some running in the yard with other dogs but does not really engage in one-on-one play.

When off leash with other dogs, Minnie Mouse interacts with the helper dog with a high tail wag, She generally avoids the other dog and is not interested in play. 3/22 Update She is tolerant of both males and females and enjoys soem running in the yard with other dogs but does not really engage in one-on-one play. 3/24 Update Mellow with a male dog. She likes being around other dogs and wander the pen with them but not interested in play. 3/25 Update Minnie Mouse is not interested in play but likes interacting and being around other dogs. 3/26 Update She enjoys being with other dogs but is not motivated to engage in play
