07/31/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Miley came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake Miley had loose body language, friendly and very excited. She was very polite and gave kisses to the counselor. During SAFER Miley came into the assessment room loose and wiggly with her mouth open, she was very friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Miley was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Miley was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Miley appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push her out. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Miley greets politely and will continue to sniff the other dog but is more interested in attention from handlers.
