05/02/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/02/15 19:16 Mileena (A1035107) was found in the Bronx River looking for/eating fish in the River. The finder stated she was friendly and allowed them to approach and pet her. The finder took her home for a few minutes to borrow someone’s leash to bring her into the shelter. During which she interacted briefly with a 7yr old child and allowed the child to give her hugs & belly rubs. During intake Mileena was loose and wiggly bodied, she allowed us to scan (neg) her for a microchip, collar and take pictures of her.
05/06/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I love the seniors; they’re calm, gentle, relaxed and easy. Mileena is no exception. Her black coat shines with apparent good care, and her graying muzzle speaks of wisdom and experience. I was so happy to meet and spend time with her; her leash manners are good, she potties the moment we’re out the door and she’s low key and sweet-natured. We walked to the park with another volunteer and her dog and she was perfectly behaved. She’s a soft snuggler, not really soliciting affection but not rejecting it either. When I sat down to take some notes she lay by my feet, happy for my occasional pet and soft words, not interested in treats or playing ball. When staff came into the pen to collar her for group, she happily wagged her tail at the attention of another person and lay down to get collared. Mileena is fine with other dogs if they leave her alone. She doesn’t like to play, or have a dog get too up close and personal and will offer appropriate correction if they do. Miss Mileena, soft, easy, low key and gentle is looking for her soul mate. I suspect she’ll be happy with slow easy walks, and then just chilling out at home. Oh, that sounds so good doesn’t it? Ask to meet her today; she’s spayed and ready to take her place by your side.
