12/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mike was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. He was overexcited during handling, jumping up, and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. Mike was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He took the toy away but had soft body language. Mike is an active dog he need a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. The behavior department feels that he can go to an experienced home. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. His body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy.
12/15/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Mike engages in running play but does attempt to mount the helper dog (he is currently unaltered). The behavior team recommends a pre-adoption interaction before placing Mike into a home with another dog and allowing him time to adjust before doing a full introduction with the resident dog. Mike was a bit sensitive with handling around his neck, and ducked away from initial attempts to collar and leash. With coaxing, he eventually allowed handling and was able to be introduced into play group. 12/16 update: When off leash with other dogs, Mike engages in running play, eventually with the intent to mount.
