She Was adopted from ACC Social life and Personality: Since owner had her she was not around any children, dogs, or cats so her behaviors are unknown. She is house trained and was kept mostly indoors. She has a high level of energy and was described as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, and friendly. Behavior: She has never bitten anyone or any animal before but she does play bite when too excited. She is friendly when toys are taken away and when unfamiliar people approach the house or family member. New Family Info: Owner did not believe that Miah knows any commands but when admission counselor gave sit and stay commands she responded right away. She plays with balls and ropes and was crate trained and did well up to 5 hours. When left home alone outside the crate she destroys household items such as shoes and notebooks. She was fed dry food. During intake would approach extended hand and lick it while jumping onto admission counselor. She allowed to be scanned (positive), collared, pictured, and leashed without aggression. When touched had soft, wiggly body and would press against hand. She would jump up on admission counselor when being pet and listened to sit and stay commands. When she was offered treat she would take gently from hand.
05/30/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: It’s almost as though Miah knows she’s a heartbreaker (and I’m a sucker for a pretty face!) because with every picture I take her sweet expression says one thing loud and crystal clear…pleeeeease? This affectionate wee cutie brings new meaning to the phrase ‘puppy dog eyes’ and her worried gaze makes me want to give her everything she could ever ask for and shower her with all the love, food and snuggles she’s been missing out on. Of course, Miah herself would be quite happy with just a whole lot more treats, thank you! She hugs and kisses, sits on command and takes her food gently, walks like a champ on leash and seems to be very house trained too. She’ll chase a ball if I come along for the ride and is happy to see a new doggie friend in the pen next door, though sometimes she can be a little vocal from her kennel when other pups pass by. Miah is simply one of the most adorable dogs you could hope to meet and she’d love it if you stopped in for a visit. I know (and I think Miah does too) that once she’s nestled on your lap and smothering you in smooches, you’ll never want to let her go! My sweetie Miah recognizes me whenever I walk by her. She gets riled up in her cage as usual and barks in fenzy. However, once she is out of her cage she is a well mannered sweetie. She walked well and liked to sniff around. She didn’t display any aggression towards other dogs and was friendly towards them — wagging her tail when near them. Miah also liked to give kisses and receive my attention, which she even tried to get from strangers. She liked to look back often to check in on me or get some affection. Miah is an affectionate, funny girl, who is ready for her new forever home.
