10/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mia came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Mia came into the assessment room nervous and tense; she was not interested with the assessor, this behavior was maintained when entering the behavior assessment room. Not all tactile items were able to be conducted as Mia tried to bite at the assessor on the Look item. During this portion of the assessment on food item she allowed her head to be pushed out of the food bowl with a bit of pressure, toy and rawhide she showed no interest. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5. Dog freezes and tries to bite. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body likely a bit tense. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest.
