08/04/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/04/15 18:22 BASIC INFO: Memo A1046672 is an 7 year old Chihuahua being surrendered to the shelter with 2 other Chihuahuas. They were all born at home. The main reason for surrender is that the Owner is a Senior, and the dogs might trip her up and make her fall, like previously. He does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION: Around strangers, he can be very sweet and social, but with some people, she barks. The dog has not lived with any children. He plays gently with adults. He has lived with 2 other Chihuahuas ages 9 and 18 years old, both a boy and a girl. They play gentle with each other. They have never lived with cats. He has never bitten or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR: He does not have any behavior issues. During storms, theyre a little scared. If you take their food, water or toy away, they are not bothered. If you push them off of furniture or awaken them they are not bothered. They enjoy being held and bathed. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: The best way to describe the dog is by saying it is friendly and affectionate. They have a medium activity level and love to play gentle with each other. They love to play with balls. They were fed table food only. They potty outside on cement or in the home on newspaper. When left home alone, they are well behaved. For exercise they would just play in the home. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: They were friendly and sweet with Counselors.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Memo was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling and lunges at the rope. He walks with a low and fearful body language on leash. He was fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Memo was shy and nervous and trembled during handling, with a fearful body language. He becomes extremely frightened during the tag interaction, tail tucked, and trying to exit room. Memo did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. He was not interested in toys or rawhide. Memo was relaxed when approaching a friendly dog, but was not playful. Memo was surrender to us. According to his previous owner around strangers, he can be very sweet and social, but with some people, he barks. The dog has not lived with any children. He plays gently with adults. He has lived with 2 other Chihuahuas ages 7 and 18 years old, both a boy and a girl. They play gentle with each other. They have never lived with cats”. Memo was not very sociable he was shy and nervous. This dog is somewhat fearful, he is afraid of the shelter environment. He leans so that his center of gravity is over his rear legs to permit a hasty retreat, He might look directly at the source of his fear or he might look away. The muscles of his body and face are tense and rigid. The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
