A volunteer writes: She’s gorgeous, she’s affectionate, she’s great on leash, she snuggles, she plays, she smiles, she sits sidesaddle, she’s a great dog! Surrendered by her owner due to “personal problems”, we don’t have a lot of information on her, but for a dog this young she’s calm, and gentle and a sweetheart. Yes, I’m in love! May was my last walk of the day and it was like saving the best for last. The best on leash, the best snuggler and the easiest companion with whom to chill out and relax. She played with a toy a bit, nicely greeted other dogs we met in the park, and showed me her ‘sit’ in exchange for a treat which she takes softly. I had to leave her in the pen and run inside, and when I came back she was sitting calmly on the bench waiting. She smiled, gave me a little tail wag and was clearly happy I was back – in her calm, low key manner. Her warm eyes look back at me when I smile at her, and she snuggles in close, paw on my lap and gives me a kiss. If you’re looking for a “chill” girl, May is the dog you’ll want to meet. She’ll be happy to hunker down and help you watch your favorite TV show, and while she may be partial to Animal Planet, she’ll probably let you choose the show. Ask to meet May today.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email [email protected]
Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process. *We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
