06/19/15 17:18 Maxxie is a 10 month old pup that has been with her owner since she was 2 weeks. She is a lab alleged to be mixed with a Cane Corso. The owner is surrenering due to Maxxie recently growling at the young child in the home. Max is an inside dog with a very high activity level. She lived with 2 adults and one 7 year old girl. She allows all handling from the male owner and a lot of handling from the female owner. She has been barking and growling at the 7 year old ever since she reached 6 months. Before that, Maxxie allowed all handling from everyone. It is unknown how she is with other dogs or cats. Maxxie has been potty trained and has never had an accident inside since she was training. She is crate trained and does will for at least 4 hours. When left unattended at the home, she has eaten the wall, destroyed house hole items, and gotten into the garbage. Maxxie goes for an hour walk a day, but his owner states he needs more exercise and more training. And more activities to do with his owners. Maxxie will not guard her food bowl from her owner. She gets bathed by the hose and in the tub. When unfamiliar people approach, she barks and lunges and has a wagging tail. At intake, the counselor was able to appraoch after tossing chewy treats to MAxxie. She allowed all handling by the counselor and was easy to scan and collar.

06/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Maxxie previously lived with 2 adults and one 7 year old. The owner stated Maxxie recently started to guard the adult male house member from the young child and was reported to bark and growl, but before that, Maxxie allowed all handling from everyone. Maxxie has been reported to be full housebroken, and the owner stated she is crate trained and does well for at least 4 hours. It was also mentioned that when left unattended in the home, she has eaten the walls, destroyed household items, and gotten into the garbage. At intake it was noted that a counselor was able to approach Maxxie after tossing chewy treats to her and she allowed all handling by the counselor. During SAFER Maxxie was very sociable and attention seeking. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue, and had a relaxed body posture when playing tag with the assessor. During the resources portion of the assessment Maxxie was not interested in the food item, and only showed minimal interest in the toys and rawhides. Maxxie can be shy during introduction, but when given the opportunity to interact at her own pace she easily warms up and becomes sociable. Although no concerns were seen at the time of assessment, Maxxie has been reported guard a house member and has been reported to bark and growl at the child in her previous home, so we recommend an experienced adopter with no children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog gently places her open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Food: Inconclusive, dog is not eating. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog licks, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog licks, then turns away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Maxxie is slightly anxious and barks and offers play bows when greeting at the gate. In the yard, she is playful and tolerant.
