A volunteer writes:
My heart sunk when I saw Max. My favorite breed in a kennel and at this age….What a beautiful face, almost puppy like..Such good eyes.  Max reminds me of a Saint Bernard ready to rescue me….A little bit of a Bernese too…His coat is shiny and his markings, elegant.Whatever mix he is, the result is gorgeous and I am in love with Max. Max is 12 and still quite good looking. Arthritis has set in and his gait is slow, little steps moving him forward.. He has a limp.His curved long nails do not help…He is ready , willing and able and does the stairs. He is so brave…Once in the yard, his first task is to relieve himself. Seeing roastbeef, he tries to sit, although i did not ask and takes it gently from my hand. He stays around me, comes when I call him and really, really enjoys my caresses. He is a gentle soul who seems to like other dogs even the many little pooches evolving in the adjacent pen.Max is a sweet elderly who comes with the ailments due to age. A kennel is no place for him…He is a good boy, great looking too and who deserves to spend his golden years properly housed, cared for and loved. Max has still a lot to offer to the owner who knows and appreciates seniors. Will you be the one opening your home and your heart to Max?
