A volunteer writes: Chunky papa…..pleasantly plump = more to love!!!! So handsome in his brindle coat, his snout long, round and elegant giving him a unique look. I met Max first when he was in play group, social, soliciting play and having a good time. One on one with me, Max enjoys being pet, sits by my side and lays his head on my knee for a good ear scratch. If I stopped petting him he nudged my hand to ‘carry -on!’. So cute! Sitting by my side as I take some notes, he watches dogs in other pens with interest. We head to the park where he shows off his housetraining skills, poses for some
pictures like a pro, and adorably bobs his head if I’m blocking him to get a better view of passing dogs. Max sits when asked, takes treats gently and enjoys more petting. We’re told that Max lived with adults and children ages 6+ and is described as playful, affectionate and vigilant. Surrendered due to housing issues, Max spent most of his life with his former family and is trying to make the best out of his new situation. A pleasure to walk, a pleasure to spend time with, Max needs to adjust to his new life slowly and with people who understand that. It is possible to teach an old dog new tricks, but it can take a bit of patience. If that describes you, ask to meet Max today.
