A volunteer writes: Being the 100% puppy that he is, Mathias is thrilled to be out running around a pen, play bowing to a dog in the adjoining area, chasing birds who come into his view all while wagging his tail a mile a minute. His coat is gorgeously groomed and clean, his energy fun and appropriate for a dog his age, and to him the whole world is a toy. He chases a tossed ball sometimes, more interested in simply skipping around the pen in his exploration. Likely housetrained he takes care of his business immediately and while he pulls on the leash a bit is responsive to correction. He needs, as all pups do, some structure and positive reinforcement training to grow into the rockstar adult dog he’s destined to be. He loves other dogs happy to meet all who wanted to play. Once off leash in the pen his new game was running from me as I tried to leash him again; I could almost hear him saying ‘catch me if you can’ – too cute! Mathias is looking for an active family where long walks, lots of playtime and love are available every day. Mathias means “Gift from God”, and this gift is waiting for you in Manhattan. I think you deserve a gift today!!
