A volunteer writes:
Mariachi is standing right behind his door. I scratch his cute little nose. He is all excited and ready to jump…Not so fast, young man. You might not know this, but you are not Superman…Mariachi is safe in my arms and we are marching without fanfare to the yard…I put him down. Mariachi voids as soon as he hits the ground and walks beautifully on the leash , avoiding carefully puddles. He marks very slightly and is full of energy, trotting bravely through the open pens and climbing stairs.  I help him to the bench. He is a good lap dog who likes caresses and hugs. His eyes are still quite bright at 13 but he sometimes forgets his little tongue out…His weight is good and his coat rather clean and soft…Mariachi is the “new elderly”, up and about, active and soooo ready for a new beginning.He is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center to start a new page in his life.
